The Greatest Wealth is Health

Welcome to our Lake Louise Wellness Blog!

We are excited to play a role in guiding you on your wellness journey. Our mission is to inspire you to live a healthy lifestyle and we’ll be sharing some golden nuggets on how to do so. We want to play a role in helping you live your best and most fulfilled life.

We have been hosting guests for mindfulness retreats for the last six years and have witnessed first-hand how simple tools can change lives. Our guests return home with new knowledge and the ripples of wellness radiate out from the shores of Lake Louise to the communities all around the world. The success of these retreats has allowed us to expand our breadth of offers and appeal to those seeking inspiration through an array of outlets, from creative writing and mindful eating, to yoga and meditation. We provide the sumptuous accommodations and meals, the facilitators bring their expertise and Mother Nature provides a spectacular alpine paradise with powerful energy.

Lake Louise is considered by many to be an energy vortex, the resting place of Arch Angel Michael and in simpler terms, a centre of vibrations. Many people that visit Lake Louise every year can attest to feeling a sense of peace and wonder while soaking in the beauty of our towering mountains, ancient glaciers, pristine forest and turquoise water. Set in the heart of Banff National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a truly magical place for your personal wellness journey.

You will be hearing from two of our wellness enthusiasts regularly; Davina, the Director of Wellness, and Kim, Wellness Marketing Manager, at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Davina’s wellness journey began with organizing the retreats at The Chateau in 2011. With a chronic illness, she found that practicing yoga helped her to cope. She learned mindfulness tools from Tracey Delfs, a mindfulness coach, speaker and teacher, and achieved a sense of calmness and acceptance that she could apply to day-to-day situations. Meditation became a staple in her daily routine and she still continues the practice today. Davina has attended a retreat at Plum Village in France, home of Thich Nhat Hahn. It was an incredibly energizing experience that inspired her to incorporate similar ideas into our retreats.

Kim comes from a family that values holistic medicine. Having grown up with a mother that would give her honey, lemon and ginger tea when she was sick and a Slovak uncle that forages for wild edible mushrooms in the Tatra Mountains, Kim realized the healing power of food at a very young age. As an avid trail runner and hiker, she can often be found atop Saddle Mountain at sunrise, exploring remote logging roads, or adventuring around the Rockies. Kim deeply appreciates the peacefulness and solitude of nature.

Our Team at Lake Louise Wellness is committed to sourcing some of the most talented and reputable facilitators in Canada to conduct life-changing retreats for our guests. They will be contributing blog posts on a regular basis. We have a sneaking suspicious that they have some inspiring stories and perspectives to share.

Join us on our journey.

With gratitude,
Davina and Kim
