5 Simple Ways to Upgrade Your Wellness Routine
This post was written by the facilitator of the Fall in Love with Yourself and Life retreat, Shannon Kaiser. Shannon is a life coach, travel journalist and the author of Adventures for Your Soul, Find Your Happy and The Self-Love Experiment.

Do you feel like something is off in your life? Maybe you’ve been working toward your goals and things are starting to manifest for you, yet something still feels uncertain. Perhaps an area of your life isn’t going as well as you would like—you’re trying to be happy, but most days it feels impossible. If you relate, you’re not alone. Millions of people right now feel stuck, uncertain and worried about the future.
I am a big believer in the power of thought and taking action toward what we want instead of focusing on what we don’t want. But even with thinking positive, there are sometimes blocks keeping us from being happy.
In my life-coaching practice I work with people to help them create a solid wellness practice, because when we feel good, we do more good, and life becomes easier. It starts on the inside, and what you do to care for yourself will reflect on the outside.
Wellness is not just about drinking your green juice and doing yoga. Although those can be important, wellness is so much more. It is about creating a routine that brings you joy and makes you happy. Taking care of yourself will help you reach your goals easier and connect with your best self. These tips inspired by our Fall in Love with Yourself and Life retreat can get you started.
1. Gratitude the Attitude
[if !supportLists]Start each morning with thinking about things you appreciate. List them out or simply go through them in your mind. Being in gratitude will help you feel more focused and balanced.
2. Dance to a Positive Playlist
Creating a playlist to align with your mood is a wonderful way to uplift yourself. Pick your favorite artist and dance it out for added fun. These fun songs are my go to for feeling more self-love.
3. Me Matters Sessions
Schedule special you time by asking yourself, “When do I feel like my best self? What am I doing and who am I with?” Schedule time each day to tap into that part of you that feels alive, joyful, and happy.
4. Invest in Yourself
Is there a course, or a book you’ve wanted to read, or a wellness retreat you want to attend? Keeping your mind fresh by educating yourself and learning more will help you feel alive and connected to your best self. When you invest in yourself you are investing in your growth and that is priceless.
5. Repeat Empowering Affirmations
Do you ever get nervous or overwhelmed with self-doubt? Chances are, your ego is acting up and in overdrive. To realign with your heart center, the balanced part of you that knows all is well, place your hand on your heart and repeat the mantra, “I am safe and loved. All is well.” Repeating mantras can help retrain your brain to focus on what is good. You can grab tools like my Find Your Happy Daily Mantra card deck to help keep the good vibes flowing.
